National Taiwan Ocean University
Taiwan Ocean Genome Center: ONT Sequencing Services
Terms of Service for Genetic Sequencing
A. Important Notes for Service Booking
- This Oxford Nanopore Technology (ONT) sequencing service is open to all faculty, staff, and students of NTOU, as well as external academic research collaborators. Priority booking is given to internal university members.
- Service operating hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. To complete a service booking, please fill out the (1) Sequencing Service Application Form and (2) Sample Detail Sheet. Applicants must confirm a time for the sequencing pre-run meeting with our contact liaison, and the forms must be signed/stamped by the Principal Investigator (PI) before being submitted back to the Center. For any other inquiries or special requirements, please contact our designated liaison window.
- Payment must be fulfilled within two months upon completion of the requested service. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of future booking eligibility.
- The Center's sequencing service is solely responsible for performing sequencing on the submitted samples. The Center shall not be held liable if the generated data does not meet expectations due to issues related to experimental design.
B. 收費標準
| Service Item | Fee per Sample (NT$ / Sample) | |
| Internal Rate | External Rate | |
| Microbiome analysis (Full length 16s rRNA sequencing) | 3,500 | 5,250 |
| Bacterial whole genome sequencing (including annotation) | 25,000 | 37,500 |
| Whole genome sequencing (marine organisms: genome size: 50m-1G bp) | 60000-150000 | 90,000-225,000 |
| Metagenomics sequencing (output: ~10 G-50G) | 60,000-100,000 | 90,000-150,000 |
| Customized sequencing | To be determined based on experimental needs | |
| 1. This pricing list represents the base fees for ONT sequencing services. Custom plans can be tailored to specific experimental designs and requirements, and the final total cost will be determined following the pre-run consultation meeting. 2. Expedited requests (rush orders) will be charged at 1.5 times the standard rate. |

C. Sample Requirements
- The Center will assign a designated contact liaison to discuss sample requirements with you. Based on the sample Quality Control (QC) results, we will discuss and determine the subsequent workflow.
- If the samples to be sequenced are of poor quality (e.g., DNA fragments are too small, presence of inhibitor contamination, etc.) and require specialized purification or assistance with DNA re-extraction, these additional processing services can be provided for an extra fee.
D. Sample Submission & Data Retrieval
- Prior to sample submission, applicants must complete Appendix I: Sequencing Service Application Form and Appendix II: Sample Detail Sheet (available for download below), and attend a consultation meeting to discuss specific project requirements.
- All submitted samples will undergo Quality Control (QC) testing. Once the samples pass the QC assessment, the subsequent ONT sequencing workflow will proceed.
- For data retrieval, please provide a 1TB portable hard drive (SSD preferred) for copying and backing up the raw sequencing data.
